Unbearable Mysteries

********************
Dying to know,
The reason for this season,
But it’s not for us to know,
As this show is not our own,
But belongs to Him alone.
********************

Someday it’ll be over,
And our heads won’t have the chore,
Of deliberating it anymore.

Someday it’ll be in the past,
And we won’t be overwhelmed,
For we’ll be a part,
Of the spirit realm.

Someday we’ll be on its other side,
And these mixed-up messes,
Will have turned to blessings.

Someday it’ll be worked through,
And when we’ve made it to Glory,
We can concentrate on me and you.

Someday it’ll be just a memory,
The details will be long forgotten,
Washed away,
Like dirt from a shirt of cotton.

Things that could never happen,
Like a tree falling down,
And skinning its knees,
Or the sunrise,
Making the world appear to blacken.

Like a tropical cloudburst,
Causing flooding,
Or a vehicle gaining mileage,
Each time it’s driven.

With blood that bleeds blue,
Or a cow dancing around,
Singing and clapping.

Being full of cotton,
Or a loved one’s murderer,
Being unforgiven.

Things that could never happen,

Squeezing through a doggie door,
Or a runaway animal stopping,
When the reins slacken.

Things that are a given,
Like Christmas decorations,
Bringing thoughts of cold and snow,
Or you pushing the door labeled out,
While trying to get in.

Like life not changing,
As years fly by,
Or the stars rearranging,
To mend all misfortune.

Things that are a given,

Each time it’s cut,
Or an asthma attack,
Being an actual brush with death.

Being enough in summer,

Providing good entertainment.

Being the most loyal of beasts,
Or a rotten log’s,
Heat being brief.

On a sworn enemy.

Like making it home,
Bringing a sigh of relief,

For your morning routine.
