Sweet Nothing

I saw a cupcake,
Frosted so fine,
But it wasn’t worth that much,
Once it was wined and dined.

I saw a sugar cookie,
Shaped like an angel,
But after just one whisky,
It was way too risky.

I saw an ice cream cone,
Piled high with my favorite flavors,
But it melted way too fast,
And obviously wouldn’t last.

I saw a chocolate truffle,
Smooth with elegance,
But it only took a nibble,
To find a lack of decadence.

I saw some buttery popcorn,
Swirled with sweet caramel,
But it was sticky to the touch,
And I didn’t really like that much.

I saw a steamy cherry pie,
Bursting at the seam,
But it was stone cold inside,
And I just could not abide.

Sinister Mister

**********
It’s crazy but it’s true,
I just saw it in action,
I’m now being served a distraction,
To try and distort the infraction.

From any demon,
Destruction is the goal,
To wreak havoc and ruin,
Besides bringing about total devastation, demolition, and annihilation.

This special case,
Was going along at quite the pace,
Then did a few somersaults,
And abruptly ground to a halt.

There was no scene of the crime,
It was an attack of the mind,
Nefarious beings without bodies,
Being very naughty.

Believed hook, line, and sinker,
Causing catastrophe,
There wasn’t a warning,
Before stares became glares.

**********
The little demons,
Are at it again,
So unbearable and vile,
Looks like another weakling’s been beaten.

He didn’t even have,
A chance to test his wings,
Before he got bit,
And the serpent’s bite stings.

Time Waits For No Man

Ya snooze ya lose,

Change happens,

You shouldn’t have blinked your eye,

Before you gave it a try.

.

Hopeless turned to a high,

Now I can,

Exhale a relaxed sigh,

Sorry man,

If that makes you cry.

.

Divine encounters,

From out of the blue,

Spell the end,

For all those could-have-beens.

.

There’s this thing,

A window of opportunity,

Which would have been the time,

For you to seek unity,

It’s too bad you stalled,

But now this other’s been called.

.

Going once,

Going twice,

And still you never,

Rolled your dice,

Sorry dude,

But the award goes to,

The one who scored.

Have You Met Yourself?!

I’d bet not,
By the way you glare,
My dear,
Misery engulfs you,
And I sense fear.

The way you smile into your mirror,
When it’s just you,
That’s the way you need to let loose,
When to others you become nearer.

It’s buried deep,
But you’re such a delight,
Why do you let those demons,
Force you to fight?

I’ve seen you be so charming,
That it’s disarming,
Too bad you follow it up,
With being so unworthy it’s harming.

The pain in your mind,
From the shackles that bind,
I command it loose you now,
By the only mighty matchless name,
To which demons must bow.

You’re withering away,
A little more every day,
Because you won’t unearth,
A little laughter and mirth.

Seriously,
Do you know you?
I guess not,
Oh how sad this is true!

Poking through is sunshine,
That’s bold and courageous,
I can see what you would be,
If you’d forget,
And let it become contagious.

Fight!
Fight for your life!
From the sidelines I can tell,
You’ve been felled,
By the hounds of hell.

Next time you smile into your mirror,
When it’s just you,
I hope you introduce yourself to you,
And the scales fall off,
So you see you,
From my view.
