Sweet Nothing

I saw a cupcake,
Frosted so fine,
But it wasn’t worth that much,
Once it was wined and dined.

I saw a sugar cookie,
Shaped like an angel,
But after just one whisky,
It was way too risky.

I saw an ice cream cone,
Piled high with my favorite flavors,
But it melted way too fast,
And obviously wouldn’t last.

I saw a chocolate truffle,
Smooth with elegance,
But it only took a nibble,
To find a lack of decadence.

I saw some buttery popcorn,
Swirled with sweet caramel,
But it was sticky to the touch,
And I didn’t really like that much.

I saw a steamy cherry pie,
Bursting at the seam,
But it was stone cold inside,
And I just could not abide.

And That Was That

Once upon a time,
Some fucked up shit took place,
That no time could ever,
Begin to erase.

Scary creatures,
Swarmed around,
Swirling up shit,
In the spirit,
Resulting in a split.

There was a wedge,
So to speak,
And it was driven deep,
So strife rained down,
And still reigns today,
Cuz apparently that’s,
The easy way.

Go ahead,
Beg and plead,
Fall to your knees,
But this one’s gonna take a little more,
Than a mustard seed.
